Hopes and dreams in ink

  • Rohan said to Rimmy: ‘Please tell me a fact.’

    Rohan Sure….Per’fect!’

What do cats read in the morning?

    Meows Paper!

What did the detective fish tell her assistant ?

Something very fishy is going around  here.

What kind of shoes do bears wear?

They don’t wear shoes. They go ‘bear’ foot!

Why did mother find her daughter’s room full of buckets?

Because she had a really long ‘bucket list’!

Why can’t leopards play hide and seek?

    Because they are spotted!

  • I wanted to write about my best friend forever

A friend, so precious, whom I could lose never

Friends I have many but the most special is just one

A friend who would never leave me sad or alone

My friend inspires me always and teaches me wonderful things

Together we visit some magnificent magical places

I am pretty sure you know whom I am taking about

My best friends are books, let me shout out loud

Books give me lots of love and pleasure

My library, full of books, is my true treasure

Books take me on extraordinary adventures of many kind

In so many ways, it sharpens my young mind

If you haven’t read any book, start one now

I am sure you will be enchanted and greatly wowed

As it is said ‘A book is a dream you can hold in your hands’

Grab a book and you will surely understand!

  • Thank you for making this year so much brighter

I am so fortunate that you are my teacher

Think about you and so many adjectives come to mind

Inspiring, caring, nurturing and oh so kind!

I am grateful to you for all your guidance

You explained everything with lots of patience

You taught me with so much love

All my mischiefs, you quickly forgave

You helped me thrive at every step

Your warmth took away all my stress

Thank you for your affection and praise

You led me through the year with your gentle ways

You made the school so much fun everyday

I will cherish our memories forever, let me tell you today

Just one poem is not enough to convey all I want to say

  • I once saw a beautiful golden bird in a cage

Its eyes blue and filled with rage

Tears rolled down its rosy cheeks

I went closer to take a better peep

It spread its wings and tried to escape

But fell down and realised its mistake

I felt sorry for the poor little creature

As flying free was supposed to be its nature

I walked up to a house that looked quite pale

Opened the door and found a man on a sofa reading his mail

I told him to let the bird go then and there

For animals‘  freedom we should care

‘No way! That’s my bird!’ he said

‘Let it be free and happy instead’

‘Let it soar the skies up high

And make new friends ’ said I

I ran towards the cage and quickly opened it

The bird flew out and smiled at my wit

I see it sometimes sitting on the tree outside my home

Singing sweet songs in a beautiful tone!
